Slot machines are one of the most liked games to play at casinos. On any night, expect most of the slot machines to be filled with eager players. They come in a multitude of betting levels; a few just cost five cents a spin and others can cost as much as twenty dollars a spin. Although slots are a betting tool, a lot of folks are afraid of the big money card tables and prefer the delight and exhilaration of an excellent slot machine game.

The earliest mechanical slot machine was constructed in 1895 and was dubbed the "Liberty Bell." Invented by a California auto mechanic, the earliest slot games had three reels with diamonds, hearts, spades and a cracked Liberty Bell on each. Before this invention, the name "slot machines" was employed to describe various types of vending machines.

The initial across the board use of slot games in US betting houses is credited to the Flamingo Hotel, Las Vegas somewhere around the 40’s. The administrator of the casino had initially thought the machines would be perfect to intrigue tired wives of a few of the biggest whales of the casino. Little did he know that slot games would be an enjoyable game for almost everyone and that the allure would go beyond the the apathetic wives. Now, it is said, slot machine games comprise over two-thirds of all revenue generated by U.S. betting houses.

Slot machine games absolutely have a rich history. From the little invention of the late-19th century to the multi-million dollar sector of today, slot machines will continue to develop in popularity.
